Reston Association Community Survey Overview
What Happened?
Starting May 1 and continuing through June 30, RA Members had an opportunity to participate in an important community survey that provided input into the development of the association’s next 10-year RA Parks and Recreation plan.
Throughout the two-month period, Members were able to access and participate in the online survey through any internet connection from anywhere, at any time that was convenient for them. In addition, RA set up survey research stations at a wide variety of locations including RA ballfields, community events, courts and pools that had specially programmed tablets so that Members can take the survey. The survey was completely anonymous and took approximately 15 minutes to complete.
One of Reston Association’s missions is to optimize the use of land and investments related to leisure opportunities for our members. A planning process is conducted roughly every 10 years to ensure that our parks and recreational facilities and programs are optimally meeting both the current and future needs of our residents. As part of that process, RA hired a market research firm to conduct a quantitative survey to collect your feedback.
The survey captured the following information:
How you are currently using our parks and recreational facilities and programs.
How you are, ideally, hoping to use our parks and recreational facilities and programs going forward; and
What do you think about some potential, new parks and recreational facilities and programs in which RA may consider investing for our shared future?
The insights gathered through this survey will provide the foundation for RA’s planning process, so all members are encouraged to participate in the survey.
